Arrival and Acclimatization in Sarria:
Your pilgrimage kicks off in Sarria, the starting point for the final 100 km. After arrival, you check into your accommodation for a well-deserved rest. The evening concludes with a dinner (if included) or an informal gathering: the ideal time to meet your fellow pilgrims and prepare your mind and your backpack. Tomorrow, the adventure begins. Today, just relax and recharge your energy.
Stage from Sarria to Portomarín: "The Official Start and Ground Zero."
22 km
The Official Start. You leave the hustle behind and begin collecting the first stamps in your Pilgrim's Credential. Enjoy the tranquility of the Galician nature and the anticipation of the adventure. The arrival in Portomarín, a rebuilt and mystical town, is unforgettable.
Stage from Portomarín to Palas de Rei: "The Forest Connection and Introspection."
25 km
The Forest Stage. A day with gentle climbs and refreshing descents, crossing the Miño River and entering lush forests. The landscape envelops you and invites introspection. It’s a key day to start feeling the rhythm of the Camino.
Stage from Palas de Rei to Arzúa: "The Pilgrim's Test and the Culinary Reward."
29 km
This is the longest, but one of the most rewarding stages. The midpoint is Melide, famous for being the Galician capital of Pulpo á Feira (octopus fair style). This is the gastronomic stop you can't skip! In Melide, the Primitive Way also joins, injecting new social energy into the route. The scenery remains rural and peaceful, with gentle hills. The day will demand endurance, but leave you with great satisfaction upon arriving in Arzúa.
Stage from Arzúa to O Pedrouzo/Amenal: "The Countdown and Increasing Energy."
Approx.
19 km
This stage feels like the beginning of the countdown. The route is a pleasant walk among eucalyptus trees and rural areas. The group's excitement is palpable, and the number of pilgrims increases as you approach the finish line. It's an ideal day to reflect on what you've learned. Arriving in O Pedrouzo puts you just one day away from your goal. The finish line is so close you can almost smell the Cathedral's incense.
Stage from O Pedrouzo to Santiago: "The Glory and the Epic Reward."
20 km
The Grand Arrival. The final stage, full of energy and anticipation. Excitement skyrockets as you cross the Monte do Gozo (Mount of Joy) and finally enter the city's historic center. The moment you see the Cathedral for the first time from the Obradoiro Square is your epic reward.
Return Home:
It's time to return, but not to forget. We leave the hotel and travel home. See you on the next sacred route!
